MUSEUM PIECES + poetry slam + beat connection | tuesday april 29th
this coming tuesday is expected to be a diverse and eclectic night here at the alex.
first of all, we are host to london’s only regular poetry slam from 8 until about 10. get here by 7:15 if you want to register. all styles are welcome. there is a cover that is split evenly between the winning poet and the fund to send london slammers across canada to compete. more info on their website and facebook.
next up is museum pieces are a sometimes two-piece sometimes four-piece from halifax that radiate energy like an exploding sun, while still managing to keep an organic and almost serene balance at the core of their music. pop by and see why they are heaped with critical acclaim and expected to be canada’s break out band of 2008.
the whole night is hosted by beat connection, london’s nerdcore dj duo who will be playing between slam sets and bookending museum pieces with their characteristic panache, compelling all in attendance to not only boogie but also get down.
